About Me
I am a Nash Academy graduate with over 10 years of experience. I provide full-service dog grooming for all breeds 6 weeks of age and older. Nash is one of the highest-ranked institutions in the country and sets the standard for the industry. I was taught the Compassionate Care model, which focuses on safety and awareness. I have a gentle hand and care about your pet's overall well-being. I've worked in all salon environments with pets of all breeds and temperaments. I maintain a line of communication with my clients and work closely with you to cover the details of the process to ensure customer satisfaction. I've been a vegetarian for over 20 years and live by a moral conscience. Before my career with pets, I worked in the corporate world.

Pricing
Pricing for each job is assessed after physical examination of the pet. Prior to service, an estimate can be given but is not exact. In general, I charge a flat fee for each groom or bath. Every groom or bath includes the following: nail clipping or dremeling, ear cleaning or plucking (if appropriate) and bows or bandana of your choice. The minimum charge for baths is $30, and do include minor neatening of coat such as trimming of the feet or cutting the hair out of the eyes. Anything more than that requires a full grooming, which would be a full clip and style.
Some services or upgrades are provided as a courtesy to the client. For example, if you would like a nail trim for another pet in the home. We do not "nickel and dime" you for extra brushing and add-ons that are charged in other salons. However, some services require an extra fee to the extra effort and care involved.
Dematting is extra and varies by pet. Deshedding services (like furminator) are an additional $15-20 for each pet. We also offer fancy finishes like doggie neckties for an additional fee of $3.

Our Promise
Our pledge is that your pet will always be treated with consideration and respect. We practice the philosophy that dogs treat us with fairness and we owe them the same. We treat our pet the same way we'd treat our own pets. We will not charge you for a service or perform a service (such as shaving) that you do not request.

How We Operate
Generally, I prefer to make appointments after I have met with the client, however same day appointments may be available. We arrive on time and perform the job to your specifications. Our groomer comes to your home with all of the necessary tools and supplies required to perform the job, as well as a table and dryer. The work is done on the premises, therefore a functional area to work will need to be provided. While this may be scary for some people who don't want a big pile of hair left behind or are concerned about how that will affect their private living areas, it really is not complicated and has little if any risk involved. Many living areas in modern homes provide most of the amenities needed, and are already designed in a way to accomodate this professional service. If you consider that you bathe and personally take care of your own needs on a regular basis and may already be doing some at-home care for your pet already, it really is not that much of a stretch to have a haircut or full grooming for even a large double-coated breed. Suitable indoor areas are the bathroom, kitchen or utility room such as a laundry room. The groomer needs direct access to plumbing, one standard outlet, adequate light to perform the work safely, and space for a 4 ft long by 2 foot wide table. While the trimming and table work does not need to be done in the same room, it is convenient to have the table in the same room where the pet is bathed. Small dogs can be bathed in a kitchen or utility sink in most cases. If a sprayer is available it does help but is not necessarily mandatory. Other pets can be bathed in the bathtub or outside in the backyard, or clipped outside if weather does not impede the process. The groomer cleans up hair clippings and mess afterward, and we strive to leave the premises in the same condition we left it. We don't charge extra for cleaning. Our goal is to create a convenience through our service, and not to create one. We do not need to alter your plumbing or way the home is in any way, except to remove items from the room to keep them clean or move things out of the way to have more room. There is not much that is required of the client at the time the work is performed. We may request access to cleaning supplies like a broom, extra towels on occasion or other small items.
